With a solid understanding of how bodies move and careful observation, I like to guide people through a practice that is stress free and painless. My focus is the deep release of holding patterns that disable us from being as healthy as we can be.

Practicing yoga makes me feel grounded and frees my body and mind so I can be a compassionate human being. I rely on a strong and flexible body to maintain my healing work as a shiatsu therapist which I have been since 1992.

My wonderful introduction to yoga began with Iyengar teacher Lisa Schwartz. The strong emphasis on alignment served me well in my Ashtanga yoga studies and I graduated from Downward Dog Yoga Centre's (Toronto, Canada) first ever teacher training program back in the 90s [ooh, that dates me].  I did my Restorative Yoga teacher training with Judith Lasater.  This style of yoga is such a good fit for me to teach since I have been a body worker for such a long time.

My teaching years at Downward Dog Yoga Centre in Toronto exposed me to countless visiting instructors but Diane Bruni and Ron Reid continue to be my greatest inspirations.

I have recently returned to my roots on the West Coast of Canada and am teaching on Vancouver Island. Please visit my schedule page for class times or contact me for details on private instruction.
